Since 1947 – founded as Österreichische Elektrizitätswirtschafts-AG – VERBUND has been helping to shape the future of energy: Even back then, we relied on hydropower and therefore renewable energies. Today, more than 70 years later, VERBUND is the largest and most climate-friendly power producer in Austria. We generate around 100% of our electricity from hydropower, supplemented by wind and thermal power.
